1st scar collected on 27th Sept 2007
Little Xavier have a nasty fall and cut….Sat on the lower coffee table, jumped and hit the edge of the computer table….Big bump and deep cut. Grandma say he is bleeding profusely and the whole floor was covered with his blood…sob sob…
They went to the PD clinic and mummy went down to meet him there…So shocked and heartpain to see him all cover with blood.
Lao yi chanted something and paste a pc of paper to stop the bleeding while in the taxi. The bleeding did stop but continued with PD removed the paper to take a closer look at the wound. It was so painful for him when we try to remove the paper….my gosh, what a cut it was!
PD referred us to KKH to see plastic doc cos he wanted to confirm whether to use glue or stitches so as to minimize scarring…forehead leh.
Stupid KKH…make us wait for a long while before we get to see the doc. Xavier is so brave, no more crying and walking about, exploring the hosp by now.
Doc say have to sedate and stitch. Sedate means putting to sleep!!! Mummy panicked now…put to sleep? Only wake up 2hrs later? Cannot lah…what if he cannot wake up? Another doc came and say try using epiglue…Glue? Yes, medical glue that will pull all the tissues together to close the wound. Either way will have a scar but at least epiglue do not require sedation! To apply the glue, the wound must be very very clean…3 nurses wrap him up securely and start on their job…Tears and screaming starts by now cos the antiseptic lotions are tingeing on the wound…Even cleaning of the dried blood cause him great pain. Sigh…my dear son; please learn your lesson now. Learn to be more cautious and learn to listen to your caregivers. Play within limits and not be a frequent visitor to the emergency care! You will remember this issue for life as the scar is there to stay on your forehead.
**Once inside the doc room in kkh, they are quite nice. I asked for diaper, they gave me. I asked for milk, they make a fresh bottle 240ml in a new and sterilized pigeon bottle for me. ** Thanks to the staff nurses for being so caring to this naughty xiao di di.
